Strangled Man’s Identify Sought

Investigators know what caused the death of a man found buried in a lemon grove, but they still don’t know who he is, an official in the Riverside County coroner’s office said Tuesday.

The unidentified man, found last week in a shallow grave near Gilbert Avenue in south Corona, died of strangulation, according to Deputy Coroner Jim Camp.

The body had been in the crude grave for two or three months before it was discovered, partially buried and partially decomposed, by five people having a party in the lemon groves, according to authorities.

The victim was a white male in his 20s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall.
