Peace March Grinds to a Halt

BAKER, Calif. —
The Great Peace March for Nuclear Disarmament ground to a halt in the Mojave Desert today after a tractor-trailer rig used to haul equipment for the activists broke down, a spokesman said. But the California Highway Patrol said marchers blamed an internal dispute for the delay at Mountain Pass, 15 miles southeast of the California-Nevada border.
