Wind Knocks Out Power: About 10,000 homes were left without power for nearly an hour Sunday after wind apparently blew over a rotted pole inside San Diego Gas & Electric’s Capistrano substation. Karen Duncan, San Diego Gas & Electric spokeswoman, said power was knocked out in Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente at 2:16 p.m. The fallen pole caused a capacitor bank to blow out, but no wires went down. There were no injuries, and a utility crew restored service to all customers by 3:07 p.m., Duncan said.
