Costa Mesa : Man Killed When Car Hits Telephone Pole
A 25-year-old man, fleeing the scene of a minor traffic accident, was killed when his car went out of control and struck a telephone pole, police said Monday.
Lt. John Moquin said George E. Undello of Huntington Beach was involved in an accident at the intersection of Bristol Street and Sunflower Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Sunday but fled the scene. The two passengers in the other vehicle involved in the accident followed Undello, Moquin said.
Undello’s car went out of control and crashed into the pole at the intersection of Bristol and Sakioka streets. Undello was pronounced dead at the scene by Fire Department paramedics, Moquin said.
