Whirlpool Corp. reported that its first-quarter earnings were up 26% from the same 1985 quarter. The Benton Harbor-based company noted that the first-quarter results reflect the operations of Mastercraft Industries, a kitchen cabinet manufacturer acquired in December, 1985, and of KitchenAid, acquired early this year.
