Dodger Fans Wave Off Valenzuela’s Performance
- Share via
I grew up in Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis and Forbes Field in Pittsburgh and have been a Dodger ticket-holder since 1958 and I still don’t understand my fellow Dodger fans.
It’s opening day--Fernando Valenzuela comes up to hit in the seventh inning. He’s got a shutout going, has struck out seven, made a fine fielding play on a bunt attempt--and does not get an ovation! A hand? Nothing.
And guess why--those in attendance (fans?) were much to busy trying to get the wave going. Incredible!
