The Associate General Contractors of California was named chapter of the year at the 67th annual AGC of America convention held in Honolulu.
This is the second time that the California chapter, based in West Sacramento, Calif., has won the honor in the last 10 years in competition with the 110 chapters that make up the national association. No other chapter has won the award more than once.
In addition, Robert E. Kruse, Kruse Construction Co., Sun Valley, was named chapter president of the year for his leadership of the California chapter during 1985.
Innovative activities for the California AGC chapter included preparation of “Dollars That Don’t Work,” a 21-page special preference position paper; formation of a Construction Dispute Resolution Forum, and development of a California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting manual.
