Speaking to security analysts at the annual American Electronics Assn. conference in Monte Carlo, Emulex Corp. Chairman Fred B. Cox said that the company expects revenues and earnings for the fiscal third quarter, which ended March 31, to increase over those posted for the company’s second quarter.
While the company will not release final numbers before Wednesday, preliminary figures show Emulex reaching sales of $27 million, up from sales of $25.4 million the previous quarter. During the third quarter of last year, the Costa Mesa-based manufacturer of computer peripherals posted sales of $27.2 million. Mike Lewis, chief financial officer for Emulex, said the company also anticipates an increase in earnings from the second quarter’s 12 cents per share.
Lewis attributed the increased sales to 29 new products the firm has introduced during the year, which accounted for approximately $4.5 million of the quarter’s revenues.
