Long Beach : Murder Sentencing Set

A 22-year-old man who portrayed a gang member in a TV movie last year will be sentenced May 8 for the first-degree murder of a Lynwood man.
Vincent James Wells faces 25 years to life in prison, plus an extra two years for using a handgun in the slaying of Larry Moore, 20, at a Long Beach discotheque last June.
Wells, a known member of a Long Beach street gang, was recruited by actor Robert Blake in November, 1984, to appear as a gang member in the TV movie “Hell Town,” the pilot for a television series of the same name that was cancelled last year after a short run.
The jury reached its verdict on April 10 after three days of deliberations. During the trial, three witnesses said they saw Wells fire a handgun at Moore during a June 14 dance.
