Too Much Coffee

Share

On a recent morning I sat on the sunny patio above Gelato Vero Caffe, in Mission Hills, sipping a double cappuccino. The frothy steamed milk overflowed with freshly shaved chocolate, truly a work of art, I thought to myself.

Unfortunately, moments later my relaxing morning was disrupted by an article I read in your newspaper (“Attack on the Mods,” April 8) by Janny Scott. Instantly I perceived that Ms. Scott had had a bad run-in with a mod. In the ‘80s? Or maybe the ‘60s? But as I continued, the attack on the mods switched to an attack on Gelato Vero Caffe and its employees, followed by several snap judgments about people who wear berets, studded jewelry and attend college--or don’t attend college, I’m still unclear on that one.

My, my, Ms. Scott, are your personal judgments blurring your supposedly factual reporting? I think so. Obviously you forgot to mention the outstanding ice creams and coffees served at Gelato Vero Caffe, which attract people from all over the United States, and most importantly, the authentically happy--and human--employees working there.

I think, Ms. Scott, you’ve been drinking over-brewed generic coffees for too long.
