Schedule Changes Affect 50 RTD Lines

Share

Bus travel becomes more convenient for many--and a little less so for some--when 50 lines operated by the Southern California Rapid Transit District undergo schedule adjustments today.

Most of the changes mean that buses will run more frequently, RTD spokesman Marc Littman said Saturday. “Instead of running every 20 minutes,” Littman explained, “they’ll be running every 15 minutes” in some cases.

In July, a decline in ridership prompted RTD to take 163 buses off the road. But since then, 70 have been returned to service, including 25 being added today.

On a few lines, where ridership has continued to slump, Littman said buses will run less often. For information about the new schedules, riders can call the local RTD toll-free number listed in the telephone book or write RTD, Los Angeles, 90001.
