The Texas Film Commission has announced that a survey of Hollywood movie producers has ranked it second only to Los Angeles as the most effective of all of the nation’s 120 state and city film commissions.

“This is a testament not only to our hard-working staff, but also to the 15 years of dedication of the many people involved in building this program,” said Joel Smith, Texas commission director.

The poll was conducted by the California State Senate Select Committee on Motion Picture, Television, Commercial and Recording Industries, which is studying the growth of film and television production outside its traditional California base.
