Huff Wins Decathlon in the Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa —
Derick Huff, a sophomore at Western Illinois University won the decathlon at the Drake Relays Wednesday, winning 5 of 10 events in the two-day competition.
Huff, 19, finished with 7,473 points to win the men’s competition and earn a berth in the NCAA decathlon championships next month.
Purdue’s Cathey Tyree, with victory in the long jump and javelin, won the women’s heptathlon with a meet-record 5,458 points.
