A Sacramento man was sentenced to 300 days in jail for throwing a neighbor’s cat into a pen where his wolf-mix dogs killed it. Keith Martin, 33, convicted by a Superior Court jury of felony cruelty to animals, also was placed on four years’ probation. He contended that he found the cat in his yard and was trying to throw it over a fence and off his property, but missed.
