UNLV Tops SDSU in Softball Doubleheader

San Diego State’s softball team lost, 3-1 and 7-1, in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. doubleheader Thursday at Nevada Las Vegas.

A.J. Jones paced UNLV in the opener, going 3 for 3 with an RBI. Stacy Sullivan and Alice Lara led SDSU with two first-game hits.

In the second game, the Rebels were led by Debbie Wilson’s three hits. SDSU pitcher Vickey Bence (8-11) was the loser in both games, giving up 21 hits.

SDSU (19-31) is 4-17 and in seventh place in conference. UNLV (17-27) is 9-12 and fourth.
