AND FROM OUR BELIEVE IT OR DON’T DEPT.: With Clint Eastwood taking over as mayor of Carmel, which star will be next on the campaign trail? None other than Texas country-rocker Kinky Friedman, who’s running (as a Republican) for a local justice of the peace post in Kerr County, Tex. Friedman, best known for such C&W; satires as “They Ain’t Making Jews Like Jesus Anymore” and “Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed,” has won contributions from such well-known expatriate Texans as writer Larry L. King, author of “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.” King, who gave $100, commented: “I’ve never given money to a Republican before. But I justified it by figuring that Kinky will make a damn poor Republican, anyway.” . . . And Our Imposter of the Month award goes out to Robert Hill, who recently posed as Ready for the World band member Willie Triplett. The 26-year-old impersonator kept himself busy by giving interviews at several Ocean City, Md., radio stations, singing “Oh Sheila” at two local clubs, passing bad checks and climaxing his bogus career by marrying a local girl and convincing her parents to give him a car. Hill was arrested on larceny charges several weeks ago. Asked why local radio programmers so readily accepted the imposter, WOCQ-FM Program Director Dave Allan explained: “We don’t get a lot of celebrities here in Ocean City.”
