“Remington Steele,” once the freshest, most interesting series on TV, is now nothing more than an inane cops-and-robbers story. Over the show’s four-year history, there has been a consistent decline in its writing. The original, interesting stories have given way to predictable story lines. It seems as though the writers don’t care anymore. Something is going to have to be done to revitalize the writers’ interest in the show, because if they’re not interested in it, why should we be?
