Santa Ana : Tecate Officials Visit in Cultural Exchange Plan
Mayor Dan Griset greeted officials from Tecate, Mexico, who were visiting Santa Ana earlier this week as part of a cultural exchange between the two cities.
To help celebrate the Day of the Teacher next Wednesday, Tecate and Santa Ana elementary school students will exchange paintings that will be hung in the two city halls next week. Students, teachers and principals from the two cities also attended the ceremonies at Santa Ana City Hall.
The exchange, in which 90 paintings by students at three Santa Ana schools--Martin, Adams and Remington--will be shipped south and 45 Tecate paintings will hang in Santa Ana, was set up by the Orange County chapter of the Assn. of Mexican-American Educators.
