Signal Hill : Transit Funds Allocated

Share

The City Council Tuesday approved the use of 1986-87 Proposition A funds to continue its two transit programs.

About $43,500 will go to the city’s Dial-A-Lift program, in which people can telephone for curb-to-curb service. There has been a 50% increase in the use of the program since 1983, City Manager Louis Shepard said.

Also, the City of Long Beach will get $7,219 to continue its fixed-route bus service in Signal Hill.

Proposition A funds come from Signal Hill’s share of the half-cent sales tax approved by county voters in 1980 to raise funds for public transit.
