Rail Service
We were amused by your photo and article commemorating the “15th Year of Rail Service Linking Los Angeles and San Diego” (April 26).
Service between these cities began in 1885, 101 years ago, over a subsidiary of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, which is still the owner of the present line.
Fifteen years ago, Amtrak assumed operation of passenger trains between these cities.
