Forward Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics was a unanimous choice for the second consecutive year for the NBA All-Star team.
Bird was joined by Laker center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and guard Magic Johnson, forward Dominique Wilkins of the Atlanta Hawks and guard Isiah Thomas of the Detroit Pistons.
Bird was voted to the first team by all 78 members of a media panel, getting a maximum 156 points from the group.
