Los Alamitos police said they were investigating the “questionable death” of an elderly woman. Lt. Orville Lewis said officers had received a call at 3:45 p.m. to check on Marjorie Elaine Deeble after the 55-year-old woman had not been seen for several days. Investigators found the door to her Green Street apartment ajar and discovered her body in the bedroom, Lewis said, adding there no indications of a forced entry. The cause of death was still under investigation.
