Local News in Brief : Comment Is Sought on Mulholland Plan

Share

The Los Angeles City Planning Department will hear public comment on the preliminary draft of the proposed Mulholland Scenic Parkway Specific Plan at two open meetings.

The plan would impose restrictions on building height, color and materials along Mulholland Drive in order to preserve the views and rustic flavor for which the two-lane road is famous.

The plan would affect homeowners near Mulholland in Bel-Air, Brentwood, Hollywood, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana and Woodland Hills.

A May 31 meeting will be at Councilman Joel Wachs’ field office, 12229 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, just west of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. A June 7 meeting will be at Mirman School, 16180 Mulholland Drive, west of the San Diego Freeway.

Planners will be at the meetings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, and copies of the proposed plan will be available.

After the community meetings, the city Planning Commission will hold a public hearing, then make a recommendation to the full City Council.
