From Reuters
TAIPEI, Taiwan —
One person was killed and two were injured Tuesday as an earthquake rolled across Taiwan, police said.
They said the tremor, which measured 5.8 on the Richter scale, damaged buildings in densely populated northern areas of the island.
Two motorcyclists were hit by falling rocks that blocked roads on the island’s eastern seaboard, killing one and injuring the second. Another person was hurt after a department store wall collapsed.
