Two Tijuana men arrested Wednesday are believed to be involved in more than 50 residential break-ins in the Leucadia area, a San Diego police spokesman said.

A white station wagon that had been seen leaving the scene of a burglary Tuesday was pulled over by police in the 1600 block of Broadway in San Diego Wednesday afternoon, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. A check on the car revealed that it was listed as stolen. Inside the vehicle, police found a suitcase full of jewelry and two video recorders believed to have been taken in a Leucadia burglary Wednesday morning, he said.

Raul Garcia Moreno, 24, and Louis Gonzalez, 28, both Tijuana residents in the United States illegally, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and auto theft and booked into San Diego County Jail. Under questioning, the men told police they had committed more than 50 daytime burglaries in Leucadia this year, Robinson said.
