‘Sports Steroids’ Ring Found
The government said today it has uncovered a nationwide network for selling millions of dollars in black market “sports steroids”--used by athletes to enhance strength.
Representatives of the Justice Department, the FBI and the Food and Drug Administration estimated that there is a $100-million annual black market in steroids and said federal agents and law officers had seized $2 million worth of prescription drugs in 13 searches in the six states: California, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, Florida and Texas.
