A 16-year-old neighbor boy was arrested in the slaying of an 8-year-old Pomona girl, who died Monday after she was found in a vacant lot behind her house, Pomona police said. The youth has confessed to the crime, Sgt. Bill Laszlo said. Casey Flemming, a popular second-grader at Arroyo Elementary School, who was found about 50 yards from her house after family members noticed she was missing, died at a nearby hospital. The teen-ager is suspected of sexually molesting and strangling the girl, Laszlo said.
