Homeowners and weekend gardeners get little or no information on possible long-term health risks of pesticides, the General Accounting Office reported. Labels do provide detailed information on the “acute” risks of pesticides, such as warnings against inhaling or applying the products to the skin, but are deficient on possible chronic effects, the government watchdog agency said. It called for congressional consideration of public disclosure laws.
