Venice : New Visitor Parking Proposed
The state Coastal Conservancy has responded to Los Angeles Councilwoman Pat Russell’s request for help in providing visitor parking on the Venice peninsula and protecting the Ballona Lagoon from environmental damage.
The conservancy recommended a total of 257 new parking spaces along the east side of Pacific Avenue, in the city-owned lot at Galleon Street and in lots along the north side of Galleon between Canal Street and the alley east of Pacific. The conservancy also recommended improvements for traffic movement and access to and from the peninsula.
The recommendations are being studied by Russell’s office and city staff.
