An El Toro Marine charged with the murder of a 22-year-old woman who was shot to death and her body thrown onto railroad tracks in Anaheim was arraigned Monday in North Orange County Superior Court.

Judge James O. Perez set a July 14 trial date for James Lee Parker, 24, a native of Raytown, Tex. Deputy Dist. Atty. Wally Wade said he will seek the death penalty in the murder and apparent rape of Kelly Devon Tucker, 22, of Los Angeles. Tucker’s dismembered body was found Oct. 27 in Anaheim under the Brookhurst Street overpass just south of the Santa Ana Freeway. She had been shot once and dumped on railroad tracks about six hours before being run over by a freight train, according to a coroner’s report.

Parker, a corporal stationed at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, maintained his innocence at the arraignment proceedings.
