Scores of Children Hurt as Bus, Truck Collide

JERSEYVILLE, Ill. —
At least 50 children were hurt Tuesday, when a school bus and a log truck collided at a highway intersection, authorities said.
“The brakes on the truck failed, it ran a stop sign and the bus broadsided it,” Jersey County Sheriff Frank Yocum said. He said that some of the children, whose ages ranged from 7 to 15, suffered serious injuries in the crash, which was under investigation.
