Panel to Discuss Tolls, Bottlenecks
The Orange County Transportation Commission is scheduled to discuss on Monday solutions to highway bottlenecks and using tolls to fund the proposed Foothill and Eastern freeways.
The 9 a.m. session will take place at the county Hall of Administration in Santa Ana.
A recent study of the bottleneck problem along the Santa Ana Freeway in east Orange County concluded that the highway would still be overcrowded in future years even if all planned traffic improvements for the area were successfully funded and built.
Another study suggested that a toll road is feasible for the Eastern Transportation Corridor.
