Quarterback Joe Theismann of the Washington Redskins...
Quarterback Joe Theismann of the Washington Redskins may retire next month after failing a physical because his broken right leg is healing too slowly, the Washington Times reported.
If Theismann is forced to retire, he stands to receive $1.4 million in an insurance policy that he took out two years ago with Lloyd’s of London, according to another report, this one in the Washington Post.
To collect the insurance money, Theismann must make every effort to play football again, and a team of doctors would have to confirm that the injury ended his career.
