Hollywood Park : Carryover Reaches $471,528
With no one picking six winners each of the last three days, Hollywood Park’s Perfect Six carryover pool Saturday reached $471,528.81 for today’s program.
It marked only the second time in the track’s history that there has been a triple carryover. The other was in November 1984, when $566,914.14 was carried over.
Only one person, Teako Kerry of Oceanside, was able to pick five winners in the second through seventh races Saturday. She won $280,261.40, the highest consolation payoff at Hollywood Park.
Jolly Josh, a 22-1 longshot, paid $47.60 in the first race to set up the third-highest daily double in the track’s history ($3,124.40) as 100-1 shot, Time Share, finished first and paid $210.20 to win in the second race. .
Shywing, meanwhile, won the $102,550 Valkyr Handicap, which was run as a non-wagering race because only four horses, including Fran’s Valentine, were entered.
