Griffey Does Not Show for Game
New York Yankee outfielder Ken Griffey did not show up Tuesday for a night game against the Boston Red Sox, the club said.
He was scheduled to play left field and bat fifth, and was replaced by Dan Pasqua.
Griffey’s whereabouts were still unknown after the game.
Griffey, in his 14th season, is batting .266 with 7 home runs and 21 runs batted in. Entering the season he had a lifetime .300 average.
The Yankees contacted Griffey’s home, but officials were told he had left earlier.
