Sailor Killed in Wreck Along I-5 Is Identified
A 27-year-old sailor who died in a weekend traffic accident was identified Sunday by the county coroner’s office.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Roy Lowell Webb, 27, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car while he was making a turn onto Interstate 5.
Webb was stationed at the Naval Training Center in San Diego.
The accident occurred at 2:04 p.m. Saturday when Webb was making a left turn from Palomar Street onto the northbound on-ramp of I-5. He was taken by Life Flight helicopter to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
Chula Vista police were investigating the incident.
