Mayor Edward Vincent received a special recognition award at the 54th Annual Conference of Mayors last week for the city’s “efforts to enhance public service through public/private partnerships.”

Vincent and other city officials were lauded specifically for Inglewood Neighborhood Housing Services, a clearinghouse of public and private funding to help restore a deteriorating, crime-ridden area of the city that also is plagued with airport noise, and the I-Team work-study program that allows high school students to receive occupational training under the guidance of city employees.
