Work Begun on Parsons Museum Center

Construction has started on the new Ralph M. Parsons Discovery Center at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in Exposition Park. It is a multi-sensory exhibit of scientific and historic objects.

The center will be located in a large space off the museum’s original rotunda area and will provide a hands-on natural history experience for the more than 250,000 children who visit the museum each year.

Tailored to preschool through first-grade children, Discovery Center will incorporate two major exhibit areas modeled after the habitat halls. Discovery boxes will allow visitors to handle archaeological, anthropological and historical specimens.
