Pirate Farmhand Hurls a No-Hitter for Nashua
Jim Neidlinger pitched a no-hitter to lead the Nashua Pirates to a 2-0 victory over the Glens Falls Tigers in Eastern League baseball Tuesday night.
Neidlinger, who on Monday was named to the league’s all-star team, struck out six and walked two as he boosted his record to 6-6. His ERA fell to 2.76.
After the game, the 21-year-old, three-year veteran of the Pittsburgh Pirate organization credited his performance to his ability to change speed and hit the corners.
Nashua scored both of its runs in the seventh inning off Steve Searcy (8-3), who went the distance.
