Appointment Will Put Judge-Elect in New Seat Now
Municipal Court Judge David H. Brickner, who was elected an Orange County Superior Court judge in June, was appointed to that post Wednesday by Gov. George Deukmejian.
The appointment allows Brickner to assume his elected post immediately rather than waiting until Jan. 5, when his elected term commences.
Brickner, 46, a municipal judge in Westminster for more than three years, succeeds retiring Superior Court Judge Mark A. Soden.
Brickner received his bachelor’s degree in history at Stanford University in 1961 and his doctorate in law at UCLA in 1968.
He served as a deputy district attorney in Orange County until 1972, when he began private practice in Santa Ana. He was appointed to the West Orange County Municipal Court in 1983.
