Decomposed Body Is Discovered Near Border
CAMPO —
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department detectives are investigating the death of a Mexican national whose decomposed body was found near a creek bed near the border.
Officers from the U.S. Border Patrol office here found the body at 6 p.m. Tuesday about one mile west of Marron Valley Road and south of the Otay Truck Trail after being alerted by two illegal aliens.
The victim has been tentatively identified as Nicholas Lara, 37, of Jalisco. The cause of death is unknown.
