LaRussa Back at Work--New Manager of A’s
Tony LaRussa, fired on June 20 as manager of the Chicago White Sox, has been named manager of the Oakland A’s. He succeeds Jackie Moore, who was fired last Thursday.
Interim manager Jeff Newman managed the A’s in their 7-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians Wednesday at Oakland.
The A’s also announced the hiring of Dave Duncan, a former White Sox coach under LaRussa, as their new pitching coach.
