Share

Southern California Rapid Transit officials will conduct the first of three public hearings on a new Westside bus station at 7 p.m. July 21 at the Westminister Senior Center, 1234 Pacific Ave.

RTD staff members plan to discuss traffic, air pollution and other environmental impacts of the new yard as the transit agency considers a location at one of five proposed sites on the Westside. The agency runs its Westside bus maintainance bus yard in Venice, but wants to either expand the yard or move to a larger site.

The agency also plans to conduct a concurrent meeting at the Cultural Arts Building on 14th Street and Olympic Boulevard in Santa Monica. Meetings are also scheduled at 7 p.m. July 24 at the Marriott hotel, 13480 Maxella Ave., Marina del Rey, and at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Felicia Mahood Senior Center, 11338 Santa Monica Blvd., West Los Angeles.
