Wilshire-Fairfax : Disney Retrospective Set
The first complete retrospective of feature-length animated films by Walt Disney Studios is being presented through Sept. 27 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 5905 Wilshire Blvd.
The three-month film festival, entitled “Disney Magic: The Animated Features,” will include all of Disney’s feature-length classics as well as short subjects, rare footage from the Disney archives, and appearances at four seminars of animators, designers and voice-actors involved in the productions.
Seminars will be devoted to the making of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Pinocchio,” “Fantasia” and the latest Disney release, “The Great Mouse Detective.”
The films will be shown at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and on selected Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings at the museum’s Leo S. Bing Theater.
Tickets for each event are $5 for the public and $3 for members of the museum and the American Film institute, students with I.D. and seniors. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Bing Theater Ticket Disk, (213) 857-6201 or by mail, 5905 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles 90036.
