A Traffic Crash and the Heroes Who Helped Save Woman
- Share via
I would like to thank all of the people who, on June 5, risked their lives to save mine.
I was involved in a serious automobile accident on the Costa Mesa Freeway at MacArthur Boulevard. My car hit the center divider head-on and flipped upside down in the fast lane. Within seconds a man ran across four lanes of 6 p.m. rush-hour traffic to come to my aid. A woman trained as an E.M.T. (an emergency medical technician) put a sweat shirt on me, another man set out flares, and another called the paramedics on a special walkie-talkie. I thank you all for your heroic efforts. You have restored my faith in mankind.
To the lady who ran me off the road and kept going: You have my pity. For the rest of your life you will have to carry on your conscience the fact that you caused a great deal of pain and suffering without having had the courage to acknowledge your guilt, let alone stop and be of any assistance.
I would also like this opportunity to mention that I am another living proof that seat belts do save lives.
