Three-time Indy 500 winner Bobby Unser Sr. won his 13th Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado, posting a record time over the twisting 13-mile dirt road to the 14,110-foot summit.
It was Unser’s first run up the mountain in 12 years.
Unser, of Albuquerque, N.M., drove his 450-horsepower, four-wheel-drive, Audi Sport Quattro S1 to the summit in 11 minutes 9.2 seconds, topping the old mark of 11:25.39 set last year by France’s Michele Mouton.
