The date of the San Clemente Summer Fiesta ’86 parade was incorrectly reported in a caption in Friday’s Calendar section. The parade begins at 10 a.m. today.

The main character in three comic books and a syndicated comic strip, Spiderman has been the subject of a live-action television series and a Saturday morning cartoon series. Plans are reportedly under way to bring Spiderman (whose alter-ego is Daily Bugle free-lance photographer Peter Parker) to the big screen in a feature film.

After the parade, the San Clemente Street Festival will offer international food and beverage booths, two stages with entertainment and dancing, a Marvel Comics Children’s Party and mimes, jugglers and other strolling performers.

Festivities will take place in the 100 block of Avenida Del Mar and will run from noon to 9 p.m. The festival serves as the official dedication of the downtown beautification project. Advance tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 3 to 12 (under 3 free). Tickets at the gate will be $7.50 for adults and $4 for children.
