Controlled burns to clear heavy brush in the Santa Monica Mountains will be conducted now that two state agencies have resolved their dispute over how the job is to be done. State Resources Agency Secretary Gordon Van Vleck said a settlement was reached between the two agencies, and the burn should be conducted within two weeks.
