Bullock’s will officially open its 23rd store on Aug. 6 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Seventh Market Place, 925 West 8th St.
Among the preview events, an opening gala will be held on Aug. 1, with proceeds benefitting the Museum of Contemporary Art. More than $70,000 is expected to be raised from the 700 guests, who will view the works of five leading Los Angeles artists: Helaine Melville, Marlee Wilcomb, Peter Shire, N. Brittain Ehringer and the group Futura 2,000. A laser show is also planned.
On Aug. 3, Bullock’s will also host a preview brunch benefitting the “Save the Books” campaign for the Los Angeles Central Library. Carole Little, one of Los Angeles’ leading fashion designers, will present her fall and holiday fashions.
