Dismayed by Dirtiness of Westwood Village

Share

We recently purchased a new condo on the Golden Mile, aka the Wilshire Corridor. Having lived in Westwood while attending UCLA, we decided to take a walk through Westwood Village as we had in the past.

Much to our horror and dismay, we found not only the streets and sidewalks covered with grime, refuse, gunk, garbage, food droppings and anything else the UCLA students and the famous cruisers had to dispose of.

This, combined with filthy dirty store windows and entrances would qualify Westwood Village as a “slum area.”

Surely, there must be some ordinance against depositing garbage on the sidewalks and another ordinance requiring the merchants to scrub the sidewalks in front of their places of business daily.

Perhaps Mayor Tom Bradley and Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky might take a walk through Westwood Village and see for themselves. Taxes in Westwood are sky-high; surely some of the tax money can be spent to bring back Westwood Village to its former splendor.
